Dynamics of wound closure. a Images of transected stumps at 2, 6, and 24 h were acquired using a dissection microscope, and 2 biological replicates at each time-point are shown. b Wound area was calculated using ImageJ software, and is presented as a percentage of the area of the stump at the time of amputation (calculated using width (diameter) of an assumed “circular” arm). Calculations were performed by two independent reviewers, mean ± SD was plotted, and compared using a Kruskal-Wallis test (*p < 0.05, significant compared to 0 h wound size)
