Daily expression profiles of the opUV , opB , and opLW mRNAs in the compound eye of adult crickets. The abundance of mRNAs was measured by quantitative real-time RT-PCR and expressed as relative values to the abundance of rpl18a mRNA that was used as an internal reference. The values are average of 8 compound eyes. The vertical lines indicate S.E.M. White and black bars indicate light and dark phase, respectively. A significant decrease occurred in the midnight, followed by a significant increase in the late night in opB and opLW (P < 0.05, ANOVA followed by Tukey-test). Values labelled with different letters significantly differ from each other.
